What a bunch of Bull

Growing up, my family was never into politics.  Any politics that I happened to notice came from my public school teachers.  Really, I didn't start noticing much until about high school, and only then to try to figure out why some of my friends got so annoyed when the American History teacher constantly referred to Nixon as "tricky Dick".

When I was getting close to the end of my college years, I started paying attention, and doing my own research.  I began to realize how much bull had been shoveled into my head, politically, at the hands of most (not all) of my teachers up through high school.  Of course, I hadn't realized it then, and that's the way the left wants it.

For instance, whenever I would think of the civil rights era - MLK Jr., the marches, the hoses, the dogs, etc, I always assumed that it was the Republicans who were at fault for the way the marchers were treated.  Just listening to the media would prove how raaaacist the Republicans are, and how they hate anyone that doesn't share their skin color.

VAT Tax - You Ain't Seen Nothin Yet

VAT - Value Added Tax.

If you don't know what the VAT tax is, please read this article by Charles Krauthammer.

Many people have been pushing for a flat tax, or a fair tax, which is similar to VAT tax, but proponents of those don't assume that they would be added ON TOP OF the existing taxes we pay.

With the VAT, however, the government will be able to impose even more taxes on us, and make the businesses and producers (that are adding value to products) hide the tax. They will be taxed, but will charge the next business down the line until the last person holding the bag is "We the People".

Somewhere in my mind there is a faint remembrance of the promise that our taxes wouldn't go up... hmmm must be hidden away in the same area as "No Lobbyists, No Earmarks, etc. etc. etc. etc.)

I also have a song stuck in my head since I started thinking about the VAT... "You Ain't Seen Nothin Yet" by Bachman-Turner Overdrive. You think your taxes are high now, you ain't seen nothin yet.

Let’s start here:

Three airports in the district of infamous fence-sitting and ultimately kowtowing Democrat Bart Stupak were awarded $726,409 in grants by the Obama Administration just two days before a vote on Obama and Pelosi’s government takeover of healthcare.

The math? Oh…well, Stupak got $726,409 big ones for his never-used airports in exchange for allowing Obama to use Federal dollars to kill babies…and we average 1.2 million of those executions per year. I just divided one by the other… I’m being generous-I expect that 1.2 million number will go up dramatically once everyone ELSE (you and I) will be paying for it.
