What a bunch of Bull

Growing up, my family was never into politics.  Any politics that I happened to notice came from my public school teachers.  Really, I didn't start noticing much until about high school, and only then to try to figure out why some of my friends got so annoyed when the American History teacher constantly referred to Nixon as "tricky Dick".

When I was getting close to the end of my college years, I started paying attention, and doing my own research.  I began to realize how much bull had been shoveled into my head, politically, at the hands of most (not all) of my teachers up through high school.  Of course, I hadn't realized it then, and that's the way the left wants it.

For instance, whenever I would think of the civil rights era - MLK Jr., the marches, the hoses, the dogs, etc, I always assumed that it was the Republicans who were at fault for the way the marchers were treated.  Just listening to the media would prove how raaaacist the Republicans are, and how they hate anyone that doesn't share their skin color.

Upon researching those events, and finally learning the truth about history, I realized that the man that had turned the dogs loose, and opened the hoses was Eugene "Bull" Connor (Democrat).  How can that be?  History has been whitewashed by the liberals in this country (the ones in charge of writing the history books, reporting the news, teaching our kids).

Its time for liberals to own up to their role in race relations in the U.S.  Seriously folks, don't you get tired of using the same old tired excuses, and name calling when trying to pin the blame on Conservatives?  I can already hear the argument coming from the left..."those Democrats left the party and joined up with the raaaacist Republicans!!!"  Well, here is an interesting article written by a conservative black man (Bob Parks) that spells out the Democrat role throughout the history of our country.

I know, I know, I can hear the next thing coming..."he's an Uncle Tom! he's a sellout!"  I find it interesting that liberals have to start name calling again, and always against conservative black people who have seen the light and can think for themselves.  I thought liberals didn't have anything to do with treating minorities that way...I thought it was just those raaaacist conservatives.

How does the Republican party fix the image problem trumped up by liberals?  Well, here are two good reads that might be a good start.  First, is Vassar's idea to start holding the media responsible.  Second, is an article from a conservative black woman (baldilocks) that explains why blacks have flocked to the Democrat party, and what Republicans can do to win them back.

Lastly, I will continue illustrating the truth about racial politics in our history.  Next up, the founding of the KKK...

My politics shifted to the Right, but my Enemy is the Same

During my brief dalliance with the Left back in the '60's, the things we rallied against were these: suppression of free speech by state government and the universities, suppression of the right of people to peaceably assemble without being attacked by armed thugs and denounced by the government, and the right to determine our own destinies without government interference. Now flash forward forty-some odd years and I am a Conservative (ownership and parenthood changes even the most Bohemian values), but lo and behold, my enemies are still the same! This President and Congress have called me astroturf, unpatriotic, and a potential domestic terrorist simply for my temerity in questioning what I see as a corrupt and hypocritical political regime. My web cartoon blog at presidentsuit.com has actually been accused of inciting violence! And remember back in 1968 when the Democratic National Convention was held in Chicago and Mayor Daley had journalists jailed and the police went so wild on the Youth International Party camped out nearby that the independent commission that investigated called it "a police riot"? Well, folks, here we are in 2010 and the President is a product of the same Chicago political machine that was responsible for the suppression of free speech in 1968. This President and his henchmen even say things about "the Chicago Way" of politics as they call the Tea Party and Conservative talk radio hosts irresponsible and out of control and advise us "to tone it down".
This is the same Democrat Party that was responsible for restrictive voting laws in the South (the Dixiecrats), that segregated the schools and the lunch counters and the public drinking fountains, that allowed the Night Riders to terrorize anyone who spoke out, that stood in the school door in Little Rock, Arkansas, that elected men to the Senate and House who had served in the Ku Klux Klan. The party that escalated the Vietnam War and was responsible for deaths of tens of thousands of Americans in southeast Asia. We protested these scumbags! We demanded Power to the People! We chanted Hey Hey LBJ How many kids did you kill today?
And now that same party is in power and calling peaceful Tea Party protesters disgusting names like Teabaggers, and we are being treated exactly the same as the Democrat government in the 60's treated us for raising what I still believe were legitimate concerns about liberty and freedom.
The Who have that great song that says "...meet the new boss, same as the old boss" then talks about praying that "we won't get fooled again." Well, America, you did get fooled again! Can we hope it's the last time?

Bull Conner's "Freddy Krueger"

Eugene "Bull" Conner has been known as various alaises in stories, he is known as "El Blanco Toro" or Mr. Minotaur or Mr. Minos Tarsus & sometimes shown as a man with a bull-head with horns. However there was a person so bad that even Bull Conner ended up wetting his bed & that took on a form of a little black girl dressed in white & drove a "Mad God Chaos" powered, 1957 Plymouth Fury with 1963 'Bama plates reading "9-XV". She was known as "The Birmingham Angel" a black girl in white & drove a 1957 Plymouth Fury that had weapons from the sci-fi comic books. Nothing could stop her even Bull Conner. He would have nightmares of her coming after him the way the victims of Freddy Krueger saw him coming for him. However when he was in his mini-tank he was safe, but a sight of any 1957 Plymouth Fury would make him wet his pants. However when she left Birmingham on a mission her replacment named Julian Charlie McCoy would come after Bull in his dreams and resembles Spike Lee wearing a short brimmed hat & working pants & shoes and a T-shirt and a flight leather jacket & a mirrored sunglasses & drove a '57 Chevy 150 2-Dr. Sedan that had a awful trumpet noise & like Krueger had a right hand glove with blades. Bull Conner feared the likes of The Birmingham Angel & Charlie McCoy & would give him bedwetting nightmares. Everyone had boogiemen to fear. Bull Conner's was two black characters coming to get him in his dreams & it took place after Sunday, September 15, 1963.
